Once In a While

sneaking trepidation

tip toes through two lips

and one side’s buying

what the other side sells.

The past manufactures

present reverberations

from yesterday’s echoes

bouncing off the walls.

If they could only talk

and words would suffice

would hushed tones rise

or crescendos simply fall?

No bridges cross the gap

between misfiring synapses.

The second frame excluded

in the building of these halls.
