It Takes a Village (elders and idiots)

Not yet having surpassed my days

in many ways still a child

wild in mannerism

from too many years of

spoon fed self stagnation.

I ventured to the elders

to find guidance on my course

but instead was directed

towards the source

of potential remorse.

Chastised for my youth

and condemned

for my exuberance

perhaps this was nothing but

jealousy barbed advice.

After thinking twice

I realized that this

may possibly be

one of the best lessons

learned to date.

That the relation

between age and sage

doesn’t necessarily correlate.
