Tree of Life

Behold I am mother of all creation

bringer of life and celebration

willing wife liberally giving birth

with fertile womb to seed the earth

roots dug deep and standing tall

braced against the passing fall

another season casts off leaves

in lack of death no need for grief

blood still flows through winter’s cold

arms outstretched in hopes to hold

my children in a warm embrace

to suckle them in this now barren place

denied of the father’s comforting kiss

but nourished by wishes of future bliss

as hope springs forth and roots drink deep

and the green awakens from its sleep

exhaling loud in heavy sighs

replenishing deficient skies

in hopes to restore the broken shield

the outer layer stripped and peeled

naked,  exposed and suffering ravage

please rescue me from the rape of the savage!
