Endless River

A river flows and carves the earth anew

Erosion laying claim to yet more time

The many now succumbed become the few

And seconds steal the years though not a crime

While unobserved an age just fades away

Another era slips between the cracks

Today turns to tomorrow’s yesterday

Without the chance of ever looking back

The solar rise and fall will seize the moon

As seasons change a child becomes a man

The man may take a wife though not too soon

To feel a lifelong love embrace his hand

Though everything in life will come to pass

The things worth holding tight won’t slip our grasp
